I like Zell Miller Even Though His Own Party Doesnt..

I was reading the Atlanta Journal-Constitution today and I saw where former Georgia Governor Zell Miller is stepping down from his Senate seat. The only people who came to the floor to salute him on his accomplishments were Republicans. Zell Miller is a Democrat, ladies and gentlemen. No one from his own party would give him a farewell. I know that he upset them by siding with President Bush but that was his perogative. He stepped in for Paul Coverdale a few years ago after Coverdale passed away from complications from a stroke. He didnt have to, but I am glad that he did.

Wow a baseball discussion in the middle of November

Its time for another great post and or commentary on whatever I want. Yep. That's the ticket. Is Pedro Martienez going to the NY Yankees? I saw on Sports Center that he had a meeting with the Boss, George Steinbrenner, some time this week. But you know that is baseball. Gone are the days of players spending entire careers with one team. I mean how many guys that are on the Yankees have been with them for thier whole careers? There are few guys any where that have been in the bigs for five years and are still with the team that they came up with. That is what has happened since free agency came into play in the Major Leagues.

I have another thing to discuss tonight and that is the Designated Hitter in the American League. The DH has been around since 1973, I think, It may be '69, but the question is is the DH needed. The DH is the biggest difference in the two leagues. Do we need it now? The designated hitter was put into the line up to boost attendence in the AL. The majority of the great power hitters of the time were in the NL. The AL owners wanted higher scoring ballgames. Thirty or so years later the leagues are as balanced as they have ever been. This season the greatest DH of all time, Edgar Martienez, has retired. I belive that it is time to retire the DH. That is just what I belive.

Its the middle of november already. This year and semester have flown by. There is a lot of stuff going on in Washington here lately. Ashcroft and Powell have both steped down from their cabinet positions. Who is going to replace them is anybody's guess. Heard that Condelleza Rice could be the next Secratary of State. That is only a rumor. Yassir Arrafat has passed away. Is this going to hurt or help the push for peace between Palestine and Israel? Your guess is as good as mine.

Great Googily Moogily

Yep, here we are on the cusp of another Wednesday. Im sitting here in the late hours before bed time racking my head trying to think of what to write. I dont know, I have had so much stuff come up this week its hard for me not to have something to give my opinion on. and yes ladies and gentlemen I said opinion. Everything on this site is strictly opinion. Some visitors to this site dissagree with my views and thats okay. We are all different. But If you want to take it farther than that and take it as an assault on your ideas and beliefs you can go somewheres else. You are not being forced to visit this blog. Unless you are tied to a chair with your eye lids taped to the top of your head, then you are being forced to look at it. Its all good though. I just figured that I would get that off of my chest. I have been doing the blog thing for about 2 1/2 or 3 months now. Its been pretty cool. My blog has been a place for me to vent on things that are going on. I can and do talk about whatever I want. If anyone who stumbles upon my blog has ever thought about blogging I say go for it. Its a cool thing to do. Well thats about it folks. Im rapping it up, ready to call it a night. I have history at 8 in the morning and I cant afford to sleep through it. I shall catch you on the flip side. Yeah, Yeah.....

Baseball's Rookies of the year named

Yesterday Major League Baseball named its rookies of the year for the 2004 season. In the American League, Oakland shortstop Bobby Crosby won the award. Crosby hit .239 with 22 home runs and 64 runs batted in. Had a solid year replacing former MVP and current Baltimore shortstop Miguel Tejada. In the National League Jason Bay won the award. The Pittsburgh left Fielder was the first ever rookie of the year for the Pirates. That is amazing considering Barry Bonds and Roberto Clemente both started out with the Pirates. Bay hit .282 this season with 26 homeruns and 82 RBI. I was suprised the the NL award didnt go to Khalil Greene of San Dieago. Bay had a strong season and Greene was hurt for part of the season. Either player would have been a good pick. The NL Cy Young award comes out today and tomarrow the Managers of the year will be announced.

Is it good to be brutaly honest or even honest in general?

Yeah, in my opinion it is good to be honest. Honesty is not always what another person wants to hear. Honesty means telling the truth. If the truth is mean so be it. If someone asks you a question about something or tells you that they have a problem be truthful about what you think. Dont whitewash it. That doesnt make anything better. If so called friends cant handel the truth then that is their problem.
My goodness its November 8. That is flat out crazy to me. This year has flown by like you wouldnt belive. Football season is almost over and it is pretty much over for my Florida Gators. They are not even bowl eligable yet. Barely beat Vanderbilt this weekend, pulled away from them late. Its alright though. This season wont last forever. Football season ends, Hockey season isnt going to start, and Pro basketball is the most boring game on earth. I like basketball, I love college basketball. Players in the NBA cant shoot the midrange shot or play defense.I know of college players that are more rounded than guys that are in the NBA.

It is Friday, Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Fridays. They are a well deserved break from class. At 11 o'clock I come back to the apartment and take a well deserved powernap. If I have the money I travel four hours down I-75 to get home. This week Im sitting here saving up my money so I can come home on thanksgiving. I love it dude, there is nothing like eating turkey and dressing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Sit at home on the couch and watch football and the Macy's parade. Going deer hunting with my dad and my brothers. It is all good.Whoooooooo. Read a Earnest Hemingway story for english today. It was pretty interesting the second and third time I read it. He never came straight out and said what the story was about. You had to basically disect every sentence. He gave clues but you had to piece them together. It was called "Hills like White Elephants" It was pretty cool once i understood what was going on. Yep, thats the ticket, and my beautiful wife Morgan Fairchild. Well I figure I will write another post later tonight.

A slight Review of Friday Night Lights

More meaningless stuff that means absolutly nothing. I figure I would get around to writting on something that I havent got to yet. A couple of weeks ago my girlfriend, Kim, and I went to see Friday Night Lights. I read the book about five years ago when I was in high school playing football. I loved the book. I even have it here with me right now. When I heard that the movie was coming out I was very excited. I thought that the movie was very good, with some exceptions. There were some things in the movie that were not mentioned in the book, and I was disipointed that a key character from the book was not mentioned in the movie. I was also suprised that they changed the location and round of the playoff game with Dallas Carter. In the movie it was the state final in the Astrodome, and in the book, and real life the game was a semifinal game at the Cotton Bowl. Like I said those are two things that were changed that suprised me, but over all I really liked the movie. The book is awesome, if anyone out there has not read it you need to I highly reccomend it.

More Awesome News from the University of Florida

Yeah, awesome if you like to be heartbroken. The University announced today that former UF quarteback and head coach Steve Spurrier will not return to the university. He withdrew his name from the list this morning. I would have loved to see coach Spurrier back at UF. Many people question wheter or not it will be the same. Would he have the same magic that he had in the 90s. Will the offense work the way it used to. There were a lot of questions being asked but they wont be answered at Florida. I do hope that Coach Spurrier decides to coach college football again. I know that Texas will have a job opening after this season. That could be a good fit for the ol' ball coach. He would have a lot of talent to pull from in Texas and the southwest. I hope that Jeremy Foley and administration do a good job of selecting a new head coach.

Good Morning

I woke up this morning and decided to write a post before I go class. I have Math at 9:30 so this is going to be short and sweet. I didnt get to post it yesterday so I am going to do it today. nanna nanna na na take that John Kerry. Bush is still most important man in the united states. Im happy. That means that I dont have to use excessive military force to over throw the government. not realy. I wasnt going to do that any way. But in other news- How many votes did Ralph Nader get? I guess if you dont run you cant get elected, but if no one votes for you, you sure arent going to get elected. I dont know but that is all i have for now. I got to go to my wonderful math class with my bi-polar teacher.

Here We Are. November 2nd

Right now as I sit here typing this post people are standing in long endless lines doing one of the things that makes this country great. Voting. Today is the day. I woke up this morning at 8:00 and election coverage had already begun. Every channel you turn to and there it is. My question is when will we know who wins the presidency? We probably wont know for a couple of weeks. No matter what happens it seems that John Kerry has his blood thirsty corporate lawyers ready to shout recount. Thats whats going to happen. Recount. Read on the Drudge Report ( www.drudgereport.com ) yesterday that John Kerry likes Skittles, i mean Eminem's new song. Eminem is saying F-Bush and that Bush is a coward. Wow, now I see why FrankenKerry likes it, its all lies. Thats all Kerry is. You take away the lies and all you have left is a little man with a big head and a crazy wife. Kerry is nothing without his lies. He changes his mind on the issues and uses his Vietnam "heroics" to gain voters. Kerry wrote a book speaking out against Vietnam and the things that were taking place there. I guess that is all of the ranting I have for now. Ill type something later if anything in this election business becomes clearer than the mud that it is now. Everybody have a good day and if you are registered go vote. forget the lines. It is your duty as an american. We can at least give a say in who we want out president to be. VOTE

Right Vs. Left or GOOD VERSUS EVIL????

Over the past year or so I have figured something out. The whole political deal isnt Democrats Vs. Republicans any more. It seems to be more Right Vs. Left, conservativism versus liberalism. I mean Zell Miller is a Democrat but everything that he says makes sense to me. I agree with his views. John McCain on the other hand is a Republican but he is more to the left than many Democrats. How about Osama Bin Laden saying that if a state votes for Bush then that state is his enemy. Bring it on Osama. Why dont you tell us what states your going to attack. I have got a Winchester 300 short mag. for your camel ridding butt. Well I look at it this way, Osama and his muslim extremist cronies ran air planes into the twin towers right, then i dont want to be his friend. It makes no sen They, the terror organizations, want kerry to be the president. they will be able to run him over. He has no backbone. He wants to pull troops, that wont work. If he does pull troops he will have to replace them. Whats going to happen then? He will probably institute the draft. thats what I think. The democrats are the only people in congress talking about a draft. If the draft is reinstated and my number gets called, I will go. without question I will go. I will serve and I will not, I repeat, will not turn my back on my country and the things that we are doing in the mideast. If I win any medals Ill keep them, I sure wont throw them away.
